Steinway Artist Tania Tachkova has been praised by critics for performances that are “white-hot” and “very impressive.” She has performed as a soloist, in recital, and in chamber concerts throughout the United States, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand at venues such as Carnegie Hall's Weill Recital Hall and Steinway Hall (New York City); Wiener Saal at Mozarteum (Austria); Henri Selmer Hall in Paris (France); Sydney Conservatory of Music (Australia); National Palace of Culture and the Great Bulgaria Hall (Bulgaria) to name a few. She has been featured as a soloist with the Orchestra of the State Academy of Music (Sofia), Shoumen Philharmonic, Razgrad Philharmonic, and the Stony Brook Symphony Orchestra. Tachkova's performances have been broadcast on radio and television, including WQXR, WITF, WPRB, Classc FM Radio, and Bulgarian National Television. Her recordings include two critically acclaimed chamber music CDs released by MSR records and extensive solo and four- hand piano repertoire for Steinway Spirio. As a chamber musician she has performed with members of the Berlin and Los Angeles Philharmonics, Ariel Winds, Locrian Chamber Players, Stony Brook Contemporary Chamber Players, and Schweizer Oktett. Tachkova's most recent project, duo per se (with clarinetist Scot Humes), has been a featured ensemble at the 2018 and 2019 New Music on the Bayou summer festival. Tachkova holds a Doctorate of Musical Arts in piano performance from Stony Brook University and is on the piano faculty at the 92Y School of Music in New York City.
